Gothic Text Generator
Turn plain words into gothic letters — Old English fraktur, bold blackletter, and a set of dark, edgy companions. Every style is real Unicode text you can copy and paste anywhere.
What is gothic text?
Gothic text is writing set in fraktur — the blackletter style that ruled European printing for centuries and still fronts newspaper mastheads, band logos, and old diplomas. The generator swaps every letter for its fraktur twin from the Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block of Unicode.
Because the gothic shapes live inside the characters themselves, the styling survives copy and paste. You are not choosing a font that the next app has to have installed — you are typing letters that simply look gothic everywhere text is accepted.
Two quirks to know: accented letters like é or ñ have no fraktur twins and stay plain, and a few rare devices may be missing the blackletter glyphs and show empty boxes instead — test with a short paste if your audience uses older phones.
Old English vs. Bold Gothic — and the dark companions
Old English (𝔤𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠) is the classic fraktur: angular strokes, broken curves, the calligraphy of medieval manuscripts. It reads ornate at any size and pairs beautifully with plain text around it.
Bold Gothic (𝖌𝖔𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖈) keeps the blackletter skeleton and thickens every stroke — heavier, sharper, made for gamertags and logos that need to punch through a busy profile.
The Dark & Edgy tab collects the styles that share the mood without the calligraphy: Creepy layers glitchy diacritics over every letter, Glitch turns the corruption up, Upside Down flips your words (ƃuᴉɥʇʎɹǝʌǝ), Mirrored reverses them for mirror-reading, and Currency swaps letters for money symbols like ₲Ø₮Ⱨ₵.
Where can you paste gothic text?
Anywhere that accepts text: Instagram bios and captions, TikTok nicknames, X (Twitter) posts, Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram messages, Discord nicknames and server names, YouTube channels, email signatures, and documents.
A few places only accept plain ASCII — most username and login fields, banking and government forms, and password boxes — so fraktur letters get rejected there. Keep credentials and official details in normal text, and paste a short test first when trying a new platform.
Gothic text for gamertags, Instagram, and Discord
Gamertags and gaming profiles: blackletter is the signature look of the scene — a fraktur nickname reads intense without a single emoji. Pair it with plain-text stats so teammates can still read the details at a glance.
Instagram: an Old English display name photographs beautifully against soft bios, and one bold-gothic word in a caption works like a stamp. Keep the @handle plain; usernames usually reject styled characters.
Discord: server names and nicknames in bold gothic give a community an identity for free. For Halloween seasons, switch the tab to Dark & Edgy — creepy or glitch styles sell the mood in one copy-paste.
